Political power is temporal, that’s why fwebachenjela muma politics we don’t squeeze others, says Chishimba Kambwili.
And Chishimba Kambwili says “hot heads” like Tutwa Ngulube are not needed in the former ruling PF.
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Kambwili said people like Joseph Akafumba should not grow wings just because they were now in government.
He dismissed as lies the statement by Akafumba that Kambwili wanted to retrieve documents from the Akafumba NDC faction in order to reorganise the party, saying he instead needed the documents in order to properly defend himself over the case he had been taken to court for that he was masquerading as NDC leader.
He said he demanded papers from Simfukwe after he heard that he had left the NDC faction of Saboi Imboela, which was friendly to him so that he could defend himself.
“Akafumba should not think that he’s a starring, this country changes. Let them respect their friends. Governments come and go gentlemen. That’s why fwebachenjela muma politics (we who are clever in politics) we don’t squeeze others, make other people’s lives unbearable because you are in power, because we know that this political power is very temporal,” Kambwili said. “Excitement yaba Akafumba only God knows. Abaiche babo baletuma ama phone abena (His young brother) Andrew to insult, ukutumfya I just say forgive them father for they know not what they do.”
Kambwili said there was life, family and friendship after politics, and Akafumba should not think as if the world has come to an end, saying in 1991 MMD celebrated, and in 2011 it was PF’s time to celebrate, and now the UPND.
“Because what we are talking about is just political power which is very temporal, it’s very temporal and can change at any time. After either five years, or 10 years or 15 years. So ukutekanya kusuma,” Kambwili said. “Us when we won in PF walyumfwileko oko twaletumfya abantu? Did I ever illtreat anyone who was from MMD who did bad to us.”
On the statement by former first lady Dr Christine Kaseba that it was painful for the PF to lose in such a manner, considering what late president Michael Sata and former vice-president Dr Guy Scott went through to get the party into government, Kambwili said what had happened to PF was a very big thing and there should be no rush to issue statements.
“Having said that I am not implying that Mrs Kaseba has made a mistake. Mrs Kaseba is not a politician you know that, she’s a civil servant. She’s obviously speaking from a point of ba Sata being a founder of PF and what values he stood for and what he wanted this country to be transformed into,” Kambwili said. “I am sure that is the basis on which he has issued that statement. When you talk about the actual reorganization of PF it’s very wrong for anybody to issue any statement because it calls for reflection…wesumbu lyandi tala lala tumone imilile yabakaya…you don’t rush to do something when something big happens.”
He also reacted to former Kabwe-Central member of parliament and fellow PF member Tutwa Ngulube’s view that former president Edgar Lungu risked forfeiting his benefits if he stayed on as PF president, saying “Those are the hot heads that we don’t need at the moment. Those are the hot heads we don’t need at the moment.”
