Zambia Wake Up Party (ZAWAPA) leader Howard Kunda says praising the UPND that it is working to uplift the lives of the people is doing a de-service to the country.
Kunda said the living standards of the people was worsening because government had failed to deliver the promises to the Zambian people.
He said the general citizenry had lost confidence in the current government due to its failure to address the escalating cost of living.
“People of Zambia should not have been struggling to eat decent meals if the the government had enhanced food security through improved agriculture policies,” he said.
Kunda said it was disappointing that while the cost of living had become inconceivable, government had failed to take responsibility by providing solutions for the citizens.
“Citizens have no food. Children go to school on empty stomaches. The high cost of living has affected people. Government should stop politicking but concentrate on addressing the high cost of living. The economy is dying and the government is not doing enough to save it,” he said.
Kunda said government had been deceiving by blaming the previous regime over their failed projects.
He said, once the people of Zambia give his party a chance to govern, he would focus on reducing the high cost of living and load shedding among others, than blaming his predecessors
