Paramount Chief of the Ngoni people, Mpezeni says the UPND Government should remain steadfast in its efforts to develop the country despite criticism, emphasising the importance of delivering meaningful development to Zambians.
Speaking when he received the Minister of Water Development and Sanitation, Collins Nzovu, at his palace during a courtesy call yesterday, Chief Mpezeni expressed appreciation for the government’s commitment to improving citizens’ lives through critical infrastructure projects.
“I appreciate the government for its commitment to improving the lives of citizens through critical infrastructure projects,” Mpezeni said.
He specifically thanked the ministry for extending piped water to areas within his Chiefdom that previously never had access to clean and safe water.
The Paramount chief also acknowledged and commended the various cooperating partners supporting the government efforts to enhance water supply and sanitation in Eastern Province.

And minister Nzovu reaffirmed the government’s dedication to delivering quality water and sanitation services to all Zambians.
He provided an update on the progress of ongoing and completed water projects in the region and appealed to the traditional leadership and local communities to continue supporting these initiatives, noting that the projects were not only improving access to clean water and sanitation but also creating employment opportunities.
The minister is currently in Eastern Province to commission and launch several water and sanitation projects.
