Socialist Party (SP) leader Dr Fred M’membe has urged the UPND government to revisit mining concessions and tax waivers to improve dollar inflows to the treasury.
Dr M’membe said that $2 billion in tax waivers per annum could employ 3 million farm workers, emphasising the reality of tax incentives.
In a statemen yesterday, Dr M’membe stated that this move would benefit the economy at large.
“President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND government should revisit mining concession and tax waivers. It is concerning that the government often disregards advice,” he stated.
Dr M’membe stated that the UPND government should act on the solutions and advice provided.
“The UPND government is depriving Zambians of improved well-being through the provision of better salaries, infrastructure, social amenities, education, and health services,” stated Dr M’membe.
