National Democratic Congress (NDC) leader Saboi Imboela has been released from police custody, and upon her release said when the devil killed Jesus, he thought he had won, not knowing that the son of God had gone to preach to the lost souls following his crucification.
She described her incarceration as a very good experience as she got to know about some challenges those who were incarcerated were facing, including claiming that police have failed to attend to a woman who has been denied ARV medication for the past two days.
Imboela said political power is temporal and must therefore be used properly, wondering whether the mere accusation that she defamed State House media director Clayson Hamasaka, was the reason why a horde of police officers descended on her.
She urged President Hakainde Hichilema to separate the State House media team from what she described as guerilla media, as the same people who were running the State House media team were the ones behind social media sites like Koswe and Zambian Watchdog.
Imboela said she was part of the UPND media team where she served under Hamasaka, saying they used to write speeches for President Hichilema and that she knew how the entire UPND media team operates.
She said the President must separate yellow journalism from professional media work required to run his important office.
