Things are falling apart in PF because we have failed to do isambo lyamfwa on time, says PF central committee member Paul Moonga.
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Moonga said like the late famous Nigerian author Chinua Achebe writer, things are falling apart because the leadership has left the members frustrated.
He said he would attend tomorrow’s central committee meeting, saying members are waiting to see what would happen, and to find out what acting PF president Given Lubinda, chairperson Davies Chama and acting secretary general Nixon Chilangwa have come up with to move the party forward.
“But I can tell you members are really frustrated. That I can tell you. We have not handled this issue, speaking for myself we have failed our members. Because as I said time and again, our members have been holding on to the positions on the lower ranks hoping that we the leaders would come up,” Moonga said. “I think we have failed to so isambo lyamfwa properly. At the funeral you only rise to the occasion after isambo lyamfwa in the family has been properly handled…after isambo lyamfwa, estate of the diseased whether the woman is doing fine or the man is doing fine, so you find that things can fall apart.”
Moonga, quoting one of Achebe’s book title “Things Fall Apart”, said that was what the PF was seeing right now.
“Things are falling part now because we have failed to do isambo lyamfwa on time, so that the children would know who they should call our father. And even when a woman is a widow, they have lost a young husband the woman does not marry on time, they still want someone they can call father. In our African society as long as she is a woman has got another man to marry their mother they will call him father. There are no step fathers in African society,” Moonga said. “They will look at that man as their own father, who they will look to for their problems.”
Moonga said he retained confidence that Lubinda and the team will tomorrow give a road map which he said will give hope to the people in PF.
