Dayne Moore has described his 2025 Zambia Open form at Nkana Golf Club in Kitwe as progressing and not disappointed to have made the top 10 after his 2024 runners-up finish at the same venue.
Moore was again Zambia’s best golfer at the Zambia Open which ended yesterday after finishing at 3 under 285 after four days of action.
In an interview in Kitwe yesterday, Moore said the most important thing was to stay consistent and playing good golf.
“Last year I played really well and if I compare it to this year, I feel like I am in a better space and a lot more content of my golf at the moment,” Moore said.
“Last year was a flash in the pan but I have gotten better and that’s how golf is; sometimes results don’t go your way but I will keep pressing on. I am trying to get better every day.”
Moore, who plays professional golf on the South Africa Sunshine Tour that also sanctions the Zambia Open, was only one of three Zambians from a field of 24 locals to qualify for the final two rounds after Friday’s cut.
The others were Aaron Simfukwe who finished at 2 over after a big start on Thursday at 2 under 290 and amateur Michael Chima who finished at 10 over.
Moore described Simfukwe’s performance as showing the potential Zambian golfers have with the right support.
“Aaron and I have grown up together. You can see there is a lot of talent in Zambia and I saw he was up there on day one but he made a few mistakes but you can see that we can actually get to that level if we have the right opportunities,” Moore said.
” Aaron is not playing week in and week out like we do in South Africa but look at the performance he put in. Really good.”
