We express our hearty appreciation to all the stakeholders that have been a part of this work and finally enabling us to become a print Newspaper.
Daily Revelation is a congregation of various individuals joined together with one passion, providing the news worth the name in this world where information flies at breakneck speed, sometimes without the necessary guardrails and sieving for authenticity’s sake to serve public good.
Our coming on the scene in is lending towards efforts to bridge the ever unfulfilled information gap that keeps each one of us moving from one media site to the other in search of the latest news and information.
We wish to restate that we are a non-partisan media institution whose only interest is to report news as it is, raw news in nature, but with context. However, we hasten to state that we have our own positions on various matters and shall have on matters that shall arise in future. Sometimes those positions may coincide with those held by various groupings, but that does not mean that we have become one with those groups whose views might seem to align with those we hold.
Daily Revelation is of the firm belief that a society that lives for nothing fights for nothing. We surely abhor that kind of society and would certainly not want to be part of it. During our life, we shall focus on important issues centering on the promotion of democracy and strong and independent public institutions, human rights, the fight against corruption, dignity and respect for human life and a just and fair society where everyone has a say and a piece of cake in this asset called Zambia.
As one famous quote by Bernice King goes: “Continue to speak out against all forms of injustice to yourselves and others, and you will set a mighty example for your children and for future generations.” The famous revolutionary fighter Ernesto Che Guevara famously said: “If you tremble at every injustice then you are a comrade of mine.” In aspiring for a just and fair society, we remain alive to the fact that not everybody will agree with us always, and they have a right to, just as we also have our own right to hold opinion on any matter.
During our lifetime, we commit to adhere to the highest standards, alive to the fact that we shall error sometimes, not out of want but simply because it is human to error no matter the highest standards one aspires for. When we make mistakes, it shall be out of pure human error and no cynicism nor ill will attached.
There will surely be a lot of things to talk about given that society is dynamic with a lot of imperfections in it, especially for a country like ours and the general world we live in.
For those in government, we shall write news to keep you in check over how you are governing the people, again in keeping to those higher standards. It is our desire and the desire of every genuine Zambian that you succeed as your success in governance is success for every Zambian.
For those in the opposition, we shall also keep you in check to ensure that you are providing the necessary checks and balances on those in government, purely out of genuine concern for the people’s welfare devoid of cynicism, malice and corrosive opposition that does not offer any value at all.
We extend the desire to work hand in hand with all the genuine voices in the Church, civil society, corporate world, government, opposition political parties and general citizenry solely for the benefit of this country and the world we live in.
Last but not the least, we shall extremely be humbled to receive praises when we do well, but much more the constructive criticism in the discharge of our duties knowing that that is one key ingredient for growth when warmly embraced.
