Chief Government Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa says Zambians living abroad must mirror the positive image of the country to the outside world and help attract the much-needed foreign direct investment.

In a media release by First Secretary Press and Tourism at the Zambia Mission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Inutu Mupango Mwanza, Mweetwa said this  during a dinner hosted by Zambia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Rose Sakala for the Zambian delegation that participated in the 37th Ordinary Summit for Heads of State and Government.

Mweetwa who is also Information and Media Minister said Zambians living abroad are Zambian flag carriers who should ensure that the good image of the country is portrayed at all times.

The Minister said it was important for those working abroad to look out for available opportunities and best practices to make Zambia better.

And Minister of Education Douglas Syakailma who also attended the event called for hard work among Zambians.  He said the AU theme for the year 2024 on Education, provides an opportunity for the Government to re-look at aspects of education that require more attention to improve the education system.

Zambia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Rose Sakala appreciated the delegation for the work done in the successful participation in the Summit.

She urged Zambians to feel free to visit the Embassy and inform the Mission every time a citizen was in Ethiopia.
