Kanchibiya member of parliament Sunday Chanda has called on UPND to reconsider its decision to compensate party members for past grievances.
On Thursday last week, The Lusaka High Court awarded a total of K10.2 million in compensation to 17 UPND members who sued the Attorney-General for false imprisonment.
But Chanda said this practice sets a dangerous precedent that could have far-reaching consequences for the nation’s future.
In a statement, Chanda stated that compensating individuals based on their political affiliations or past grievances undermined the principles of fairness and equity that should guide governance in a country where millions of citizens were grappling with povert
