Nkana and Power Dynamos return to league action this weekend after their semifinal exit from the 2025 ABSA Cup.
Power and Nkana were booted out of the ABSA Cup by similar 1-0 semi-final losses to Red Arrows and Zesco United respectively.
Power will be home at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe where they will host 12th placed Green Eagles.
The match will not only be Power’s final home game of the season but also likely to be the climax of the campaign.
Eagles and Power drew 1-1 in the first leg in Choma.
Victory for Power in their penultimate game of the 2024/2025 season will hand them the league title on an unassailable 67 points.
Second placed Zesco United on 60 points can only muster 66 points in their final two games.
Zesco are in action this Sunday away to relegation-battling Mutondo Stars.
Both teams need a win in this game with three points for Zesco putting an end to Nkana’s continental hopes while Mutondo needs the three points to keep alive their survival hopes.
Nkana will be on the road in Mazabuka on Saturday to play FC MUZA.
The match will be Nkana’s first league game since their controversial Kitwe derby against Power a fortnight ago which ended 1-1 in Ndola, that was shrouded by Nkana fans destroying seats at Levy Stadium.
With 55 points, Nkana will be praying that Mutondo Stars can do them a favour by beating Zesco on Sunday.
And at the opposite end of the log, fifth from last ZANACO’S battle to avoid relegation heats up when they host Mufulira Wanderers this Saturday at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.
ZANACO have 36 points tied with Atletico Lusaka just below them who visit demoted Indeni, while third from last Forest Rangers have 35 points and host Red Arrows in a feverish race for survival.
