The human head that was discovered near in Ndola has been identified as that of Copperbelt University (CBU) final-year medical student, Fred Kapuku.
Kapuku was last seen on Saturday, driving a Toyota Mark X, which had also going missing.
On Monday, Kapuku’s headless body stuffed in a black Trunk along Jonken Road in Kitwe, was discovered by members of the public, while his head and legs were found in Ndola.
According to Copperbelt Police Commissioner Pethias Siandenge, when the headless body was discovered in Kitwe, police who rushed to the scene noticed that the cuts looked fresh and some burns were visibly seen on the chest.
He said the deceased had no clothes on and was suspected to have been killed somewhere and dumped at that area as the place looked like a second scene of crime.
He said while still at the scene, information from Ndola Hillcrest Police was received that two human legs and a head was discovered near Hillcrest Clinic.
Siandenge confirmed yesterday that the deceased had been identified by his girlfriend who was also a student at CBU.
“The girlfriend narrated that, that the deceased was last seen on saturday, August 16 driving a Toyota Mark X, Reg No. BCG 7441, Black in Colour, which is also missing together with his Cellphone,” he said.
He said investigations into the matter had been intensified to bring the culprits to book.
