Former president Edgar Lungu’s former political advisor, Kaizar Zulu has responded to assertions that he is being engaged to be a state witness in the ongoing investigations bordering on impropriety in the Edgar Lungu administration.
Well placed sources have told Daily Revelation that Zulu is being engaged by the current UPND administration on the ongoing investigations, with his relationship with Local Government minister Garry Nkombo raising alarms in former president Lungu’s circles. Sources said Zulu was recently spotted with Nkombo in Kafue, although others have argued that the two were somehow related and have been close for a long time, saying the matter of their closeness was one of the talking points in the UPND even before they assumed office.
“You actually call Kaizar Zulu’s lawyers, he was summoned to appear before Woodlands police over some investigations, during that same time Bowman Lusambo was summoned by the ACC, but has not been there up to now. In fact when his lawyers were called to take their client to Woodlands police, the lawyers argued that they could not take him there on that day as they were still handling Lusambo’s case,” sources said. “You call his lawyers.”
However, efforts to talk to Lusaka lawyer Makebi Zulu failed as his line was just ringing.
But Kaizar Zulu when contacted said he was not aware about information that he was ready to become a state witness to secure indemnity over his own matters, and that no one had even contacted him over that.
“I am not aware of anything of that sort,” said Zulu.
