PF deputy national chairperson Davies Chama says President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND will be more vicious in 2026, given “that he has a record of refusing to concede elections losses.”
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Mwila, the former Defence minister said he believed it will be impossible for President Hichilema to concede defeat in 2026 with the levers of power in his hands, saying the UPND were losing popularity barely six months of being elected into office as public discontent was very high, with the ever increasing cost of living.
“I can foresee, if this man never even conceded any defeat when in opposition he will never concede defeat when he loses in 2026. He will never concede,” Chama said. “And they will be very vicious in 2026. Watch the space and wait for them in 2026.”
Chama said the very things President Hakainde Hichilema condemned his predecessors for, like the constant traveling, were the very things he was engaging in now, wondering what image the President was cleaning with his travels.
“What damage? Which cleaning up? It’s laughable. It’s very laughable because you have ministers who can go out and even represent you. But the ministers are not even being allowed to travel. Directors, permanent secretaries are not allowed to travel, not even locally because the economy is under stress. But with him the economy is not under stress. Him he can travel anywhere,” said Chama.
