Brian Nkolola has said that Patriot Front members that are complaining about political persecution by the UPND administration should not be scared of being prosecuted, because if they are really innocent the law will exonerate them.
Commenting on lamentations by the PF top leadership that some senior party members in the former ruling party and its associates are being pursued by the law enforcement agencies at the instigation of the UPND government, Nkolola said that those that know that they are innocent should not be afraid of appearing in the courts of law.
“All those that are perceived to have broken the law should be prosecuted. Because it is the law that will cleanse you at the end of the day. They might feel persecuted today, but if they are really innocent, the law will exonerate them and they will be as clean as a dove,” Nkolola, who was the Patriot Front Kapiri Mposhi mayoral candidate in last year’s general elections, told Daily Revelation media. “But if their track record is not in conformity with the law, I am afraid, they will be dealt with by the law itself.”
He stressed that individuals that have not been engaging in illegal activities will always move freely.
“Some of us have been members of the Patriot Front since its inception, but have never engaged in illegal activities. And that is why today I am moving freely with my head high,” said Nkolola, who is also immediate past Patriot Front Kapiri Mposhi district youth chairman.
Nkolola further implored law enforcement agencies to discharge their duties professionally, without applying the law selectively.
“Further, our law enforcement agencies should follow the law to the latter, otherwise the law itself will revisit your actions. The law does not select and should not be applied selectively. You can manipulate the law today, but it will manipulate you tomorrow,” said Nkolola.
