STOP BEING PETTY OVER TARRYING HH ROAD – KABIMBA … HH is no ordinary person, he’s President of this country

By Staff Reporter

Economic Front (EF) leader Wynter Kabimba says President Hakainde Hichilema as President is “first among the equals”, and that it’s petty to even start debating the announcement that the road to his private residence is earmarked for tarring.

Infrastructure minister Charles Milupi recently told Daily Revelation that his Ministry has taken it upon itself to upgrade the gravel road leading to President Hichilema’s private residency in New Kasama. But some have asserted that that is abuse of authority as there are many roads that require to be done around the country and wondering why there should be a rush to tar the President’s road.

However, Kabimba said it was petty for any sober minded person to even raise any debates over that announcement as the President is not an ordinary person.

“Look, let’s not be so petty as a nation. HH is not an ordinary person. He’s a president of this country. Okay? So even as he himself did not respect other presidents I think convention demands for anybody with a sober mind that the office of President and the one occupying that office is fist among equals. So I think to make those comparisons that no because why HH’s house, why not Me Kabimba’s house I think is petty. I think it’s petty,” Kabimba said.

He said generally, the government and city councils should be doing these projects, saying even the PF upgraded the road leading to former Republican vice-presidentDr Guy Scott’s farm.

He said infrastructure development must precede residential development as that was how the cities were planned and not the current situation where the people’s developments were running faster than the infrastructure development by the city council.

Kabimba said it was his belief that all the area where President Hichilema resides should have been tarred a long time ago.
