Failure is smelling in Hakainde Hichilema’s face, opposition FDD leader Edith Nawakwi has charged.
And Nawakwi said the kind of suffering President Hichilema has visited upon Zambians requires the setting up of a medical board to determine what is wrong with the President.
In a statement to Daily Revelation, Nawakwi charged that when a leader did not have time for his people “they go on a frolic of miscellaneous behavior”, saying “this business where Hakainde and his cahoots are ever involved in arresting innocent Zambians should stop.”
“Honestly who doesn’t know that at this point in time there is no one in State House? There is no occupant of State House? So legally you can’t say to someone that you have defamed the President because someone said that someone may be in need of medical attention and that person is an occupant of State House,” Nawakwi said.
Nawakwi said as far as she was concerned, President Hichilema does not live in State House but community house, and wondered when his house became State House as Zambians have been asking questions time and again, saying that it was for reasons like this where he was absolutely conflicted not knowing whether he was an occupant of State House or community house.
She said she did not know whether “these young government lawyers” are advising the President properly because saying someone who resided in community house needed medical attention was not an offence, arguing that the law allows Zambians to say the President is not fit to govern and being unable to govern is being in a position of unviable mental health.
Nawakwi said President Hichilema has previously asked former presidents to present themselves before the medical board for health examination and no one charged him with defamation.
“Actually Mr Hichilema you are digging your grave while you are looking,” she said.
She said President Hichilema will have to defend himself by providing a medical record showing that he is fit to govern, saying by the time Inspector General of police Lemmy Kajoba is done, he may have dug a 12-feet grave for him for urging him to arrest people, urging that the focus must be on arresting the price of fuel, inability to arrest the price of food and failure to deliver fertilizer and other inputs on time and disciplining ministers who are asking for bribes, including getting the economy moving, something she said the President was incapable of doing and that was why he was focused on politics of intimidation but that “he would not intimidate us.”
“You can arrest the whole country but we are all saying that you have failed and this failure is smelling in your face. So how can you as a head of state, every week you are arresting someone?” Nawakwi asked, adding that God was a very smart God as when he loves someone he makes people around you to love you but if he does not love you he makes people around you to hate you.
She wondered how the President could achieve unity when he was preaching division such that “when I Edith Nawakwi goes to a Church function and a commander walks out because I am speaking and advising youths on how they can be ministers of the lost souls?”
Nawakwi said the President should put his house in order in the ‘remaining months he has remaining.”
She said it was clear President Hichilema had no plan and that with him continuing in office, the future of the country was bleak, wondering how a president could have such thin skin. Nawakwi further wondered why President Hichilema should be increasing fuel every month to please his handlers in Washington, when the same people offered subsidies to their own citizens.
She said the amount of hatred President Hichilema has for Zambians requires Zambians to set up a medical board to examine what was wrong “with our President.”
