Information and Media Minister Chushi Kasanda has said that the UPND administration is on course in the implementation of government’s development agenda.
In an interview, Kasanda has refuted assertions by opposition political party leaders that the current regime has failed to live up to its campaign promises of reducing the price of fertiliser, mealie meal and fuel pump prices; among others, Chushi said that “those that are attacking the UPND government over such issues should take into account that we have taken into account all the issues they have been raising.”
On the economic front, which has seen most households struggling to meet their daily needs, Kasanda said that the UPND administration “inherited a wrecked economy, which she said the Patriot Front government failed to address.”
On the massive loadshedding that has been embarked on by ZESCO, which is a national utility power supply company, Kasanda said that she cannot comment on the matter, saying “the minister responsible will soon issue a comprehensive statement.”
