By Staff Reporter

The Anti-Corruption Commission has launched investigations against Ministry of Information permanent secretary Thabo Kawana over the alleged unexplained K3 million in his bank account.

Well-placed sources in the UPND administration have told Daily Revelation that investigations were launched against Kawana even before he was promoted from [pp-logged-users] the position of media director to permanent secretary in the same Ministry.

“We don’t know if his illness has any relation to the investigations but what is there is that there is an active investigation by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) involving K3 million that was going into his account from different sources,” the source said. “In fact the investigations started before he was promoted from director to permanent secretary. We don’t know what message President Hakainde Hichilema is trying to send to the investigative wings, especially when he claims that he is an ardent corruption fighter.”

The sources continued, saying: “You must just need to find out if the PS not being in office has anything to do with the current illness or there is something more to that.”[/pp-logged-users]
