National Democratic Congress (NDC) faction acting secretary general Charles Kabwita has urged Josephs Akafumba to stop masquerading as NDC president.
And Kabwita has charged that Akafumba is a nonentity who cannot be equated to a politician.
Speaking to Daily Revelation, Kabwita accused Akafumba of trying to use illegal means in order to usurp the leadership of the NDC.
He disclosed that the NDC leadership had expelled Akafumba along with Bridget Atanga and Professor Atanga, and wondered why Akafumba is still claiming that he is president.
“I wish to express my displeasure following the misconduct of one Josephs Akafumba, who is going round the country masquerading as NDC president. That should not continue. Akafumba wants to use illegal means in order to take up the leadership or presidency of NDC. He is busy trying to organise individuals to join the UPND Alliance. And I want to state that NDC was registered by 10 people, and Mr Akafumba was not among those people…we just invited him. But we are surprised that he has grown big headed. Sometime back we noticed that he wanted to usurp power and we expelled him. And the Central Committee of the NDC recommended that he should be expelled. Akafumba was expelled together with madam Bridget Atanga and Professor Atanga,” explained Kabwita. “But today Mr Akafumba wants to champion the cause of organising people to join UPND in order to please HH [President Hakainde Hichilema]. We are aware that Mr Akafumba wants to seize this opportunity to get a job from President Hakainde Hichilema, but let him to that in a better way. But I don’t think that HH would like to deal with corrupt people or dirty people. Ba Akafumba, you are not a clean person. You are very dirty.”
Kabwita also threatened to expose the illegalities that Akafumba has allegedly been engaging in if does not stop masquerading as National Democratic Congress president.
“The way he is misconducting himself is not inspiring because he has been conducting himself illegally. One day we shall be compelled to expose Mr Akafumba’s illegalities. He used coup de ta against Chishimba Kambwili. He is doing this with impunity. That should not continue. And on that basis we would like to warn Mr Akafumba that we have had enough of his illegalities. If you continue masquerading as NDC leader, we will expose you very soon,” Kabwita said.
And Kabwita has charged that Akafumba is a nonentity who cannot be equated to a politician.
“He is a lawyer. But if we go by records, we will discover that he is a failed lawyer. Mr Akafumba is a nonentity who cannot be equated to a politician; not even a branch chairman,” stressed Kabwita.
