A three year old boy has died after falling in a disused well.
Police sources have confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Nebert Makondo of Malaya village in Chief Mukonchi’s area in Kapiri Mposhi district.
Sources explained that the boy was playing with his friends near the well when he fell in a disused well and sustained multiple injuries.
“The incident happened on 25th November, 2023 in Mukonchi area. The boy was retrieved from the disused well after his friends alerted some adults who were nearby. The boy who had some multiple injuries on the body was rushed to Mukonchi Clinic where he was admitted. But in the early hours of Sunday died due to what medical staff are saying internal bleeding,” said the source.
The body of the deceased has been deposited in the local clinic mortuary, awaiting postmortem and burial.
