Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has declared Hakainde Hichilema as Zambia’s seventh Republican President after outrightly defeating incumbent Edgar Chagwa Lungu in the general election.
Out of 155 constituencies, President Elect Hichilema scored 2,810,757, while outgoing President Lungu polled 1,814,201.
ECZ Chairperson, who is also the Presidential Returning Officer Judge Esau Chulu declared President Elect Hichilema as dully elected Republican President.
