Several parents have complained that they are being forced to buy schools uniforms at Northmead primary school failure to which their children will not be granted enrollment.

Anticipating increased enrollments, some parents said the school has substantially increased uniform prices with a demand that such should be purchased from the schools and should not be sourced elsewhere.

“Hi please help us the teachers at Northmead Primary School they are forcing parents to buy uniforms for grade one at high price each is K375. If you don’t have the money to buy they don’t give acceptance letters,” wrote one parent, in a message echoed by many. “But if you remember, government has never reserved a policy directing that parents should not be forced to buy uniforms from the schools as they could source them wherever they want to as long as they comply with the colours and badges demanded from the schools.
