Citizens First (CF) leader Harry Kalaba has told Zambians that this is their chance to choose a leader who abhors corruption, as opposed to them electing leaders who will use public office to engage in tenderpreneurship by seeking public contracts instead of working to improve people’s livelihoods.
Speaking with Daily Revelation after concluding his Luapula Province campaign trail, Kalaba said he was now taking the inspiration from the campaigns in Luapula into Lusaka province.
He urged Lusaka residents that they have suffered massively for electing leaders who greedily prioritised public office to seek what was in it for themselves as opposed to what was in the best interest of Zambians.
“This is their chance to choose leaders that abhor corruption, a leader that will look after their interests and not the leaders interets,” Kalaba said. “They need a social worker there in State House. They need someone who will listen to them and not them listening to tenderpreneurs.”
Kalaba said the country needed change, but that change should be with the Citizens First (CF).
“We move into Lusaka with a lot of confidence. If there is a province that has faced hardships and guagmire it is Lusaka. Lusaka must change with CF,” Kalaba said.
He said he remained positive that the people of Luapula from where he was coming, and Zambia in general, would make the correct call on August 13, 2026.
Kalaba said he was inspired by the resilience of Luapula people and Zambia in general to strive through life despite the heavy odds against them.
He said the government had gravelled a lot of roads in Luapula as if people were too foolish not to notice that they were doing the same in order to hoodwink them because of the elections.
He said he was among the key architects of the Social Cash Transfer Programme as he was the one late president Michael Sata assigned as Foreign Affairs minister to sign for it. He said he would ensure that the beneficiaries and amounts given to people were increased.
Kalaba said as opposed to people getting K800 after every two months, he would increase the amount to K2000 to be paid monthly to the beneficiaries. He said vulnerable men and women would be included on the programme.
