President Hakainde Hichilema has told the people of Copperbelt not to take for granted what God has been able to achieve on the province through leaders like himself.
Speaking during the prayers for unity and peace at Living Water Global Churches in Kitwe on the Copperbelt Province, President Hichilema said the revival of the mines on the Copperbelt was only possible because God led the way.
He said he figured that matters that were bogged down in court over the Konkola Copper Mines and Mopani could not be resolved through the courts and managed to find a resolution to them all. He said both mines were now fully operational.
He said Luanshya was now coming back to life because issues around Shaft 28 had been resolved
President Hichilema said people may take it for granted but the Copperbelt was gone
“We on Copperbelt must not take for granted what God has done for us even …. through myself,” he said.
He said it was only God who made it possible that matters were resolved on the mines.
He said Copperbelt had rceived the largest quantum of investment with between $12 billion to $13 billion.
He said he heard when Zambians speak because God speaks through them.
President Hichilema said peace and security was needed for the country to develop. He urged Zambians against taking the peace and security they enjoyed for granted.
He urged against being tempted to raise emotions to pick up weapons
“That’s a no go area for this country,” he said.
He urged that ideas must be exchanged not weapons.
He promised a free fair and election saying that was the mandate he was given and would exercise the same.
“Elections are not an opportunity to exchange blows,” he said.
He said it was not about ethnicity and who was handsome or beautiful but about God’s people.
