Don’t trust the opposition, they are ‘wolves’ and ‘mwankoles’- Lifwekelo

A Mwankole will always be a mwankole, says Miles Sampa’s PF deputy secretary general Edwin Lifwekelo.

In a statement, Lifwekelo urged Zambians not to trust the opposition as they have no clarity in terms of what they will do differently from what President Hakainde Hichilema was doing, other than releasing from custody those who have been detained for various offences.

“Despite president Hakainde Hichilema being the most abused opposition leader, he has continued to show spirit of love towards his political competitors.
He has proved beyond doubt that he has a big heart.
Don’t trust the opposition, balemizembelekafye.
They are wolves in ship (sheep) skin. What alternatives do do those running for the highest office in the land have other than danceable political campaign songs?” Lifwekelo argued. “Now is not the time to substitute a winning team. Some of the opposition now calling for the repealing of cyber law, strangely supported this law while in government
Today they have become proponents for the repealing of the same piece of legislation.”

Lifwekelo stated that while the road has been difficult as the “economy was in ICU and damaged beyond repair”, President Hakainde Hichilema was firmly making economic progress.

“This progress risks being wiped out by the opposition once voted into power. Mwankole will always be Mwankole. Zambians must understand that the first five years of UPND in power has been to repair, to rescue and to build a stronger economic foundation for the country,” Lifwekelo stated. “We have seen consistency in policy direction and this has helped to stabilize our economy. When UPND came to power we had collapsed the economy
They found raising commodity prices, the sliding kwacha and dwindling foreign reserves..Today Hakainde Hichilema has restored confidence in public life.”

Lifwekelo stated that President Hichilema managed to repair the broken trust with the international community, and restructured Zambia’s external debt with foreign reserves rising to K6.5 billion.

“Going forward the UPND alliance partners are confident that President Hakainde Hichilema will now focus on creating New jobs for zambians, reducing the cost of living for the zambian people
Zambian s must say no to selfish politicians masquerading as saviours. We refuse to be taken back to those barbaric years were cadres reign caused fear and intimidation to our people,” stated Lifwekelo. “Zambians are now free under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema.
Zambia is now stable and respected by our regional and international friends. Hakainde is now ready to turn stability into job opportunities and national progress into bettering lives of the zambian people.”
