GIRLS RESCUE CALL COINCIDED WITH WORK WE WERE ALREADY DOING – KAJOBA

By Staff Reporter

Inspector General of Police Lemmy Kajoba has brushed aside questions being raised on his police service by the abductor that police failed to catch them over their abduction of Pamela and the other 12 young women.

Responding to the abductor of the ladies who said to Kajoba that police did not do anything to catch them, saying the only way they managed to catch them was because the ladies screamed after they had left home, forcing those in the nearby vicinity to respond, Kajoba said the shouting from the girls simply coincided with the work the police were already doing, as they had already placed surveillance on the area and were planning for a raid either yesterday or today.

“You don’t know what kind of operations that we were doing. In fact that place, yesterday we had even marked the area according to our surveillance with other service providers with ZICTA, the whole of that area we had marked it and we were going to do a search either yesterday or today, and it so happened that it happened that way,” Kajoba told Daily Revelation Media. “I think getting into details we are yet to talk to the girls and also interrogate the two suspects that have been picked in Kaoma. I think that is when we give a comprehensive report f what happened. So I am just responding to what you have said. But I will later in the day give you a comprehensive report.”

Kajoba said the landlord of the property where the ladies were being kept was was apprehended yesterday.

“There is a lot that has been happening in the background that has culminated into the arrest and the rescue of those women. We have been spending sleepless nights over this case,” said Kajoba.

In a statement yesterday, Kajoba states that police had managed to rescue abducted mobile money agent Pamela Chisumpa, and other 12 females that were held captive in Chalala area.

The other names of those rescued include a female juvenile aged 17, Grace Siabeula (22), Felistus Hachintu (18), Ruth Banda (21), Nalukui Macwani (21), Agnes’s Kapwaya (21), Docus Chungwe (24), Priscilla Mapulanga (23), Honester Lungu (25), Rosemary Chibwe (25), Faith Maluti (28), Paxina Chanda (22)
