I urge all reasonable Zambians to support Kalaba – Kambwili … I don’t want to remain muli mwamoneni

Former minister in the PF administration Chishimba Kambwili has endorsed Citizens First (CF) leader Harry Kalaba for the 2026 general elections.

Explaning his decision to back Kalaba, Kambwili said it was clear from what was happening at the Registrar of Societies and Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) that some people and parties would not be allowed to be on the ballot.

He said it was therefore, important to take precautions, because it was clear that the ECZ was working with the Registrar of Societies.

He pointed to the provisions in the new law, which required adoption certificate papers to be signed by party secretary generals and presidents, whose names were registered with the Registrar of Societies.

Kambwili also said that there was a law demanding that parties fielding candidates should have gone to the convention.

Kambwili said reasonable people would do anything in their power to avoid being disappointed.

He said that it was for this reason that having analysed all the parties, he had come to the conclusion that Kalaba and CF met the criteria, and had been consistent.

“I don’t want ukushala muli mwamoneni,” Kambwili said.

He said that Kalaba was also experienced.

“I have decided I will support Harry Kalaba in the 2026 general elections,” said Kambwili, adding that the CF leader was a reasonable candidate. “I will support Harry Kalaba and urge all reasonable Zambians to support him.”
