If HH wins good for him, but God forbid, says Chishimba Kambwili.
And Kambwili has warned that “this country will never develop if it votes for a tribalist.
The journalist who interviewed Dr Kenneth Kaunda, Owen Miyanza, where the late statesman warned that if there was any politician who could divide the country on the basis of tribe it was Hichilema, has confirmed that the did the interview and that although the video making the rounds is manipulated, the content is authentic.
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Kambwili said even if he had remained in the opposition the PF was still going to win, because according to him they have worked, saying the opposition was riding over arguments that the economy was not performing well, when most of the world was affected by climate change and the Covid-19 pandemic.
Asked if the PF were preparing for the eventually of a loss in the same manner they were preparing for a win, Kambwili said a loss would not happen according to what he had seen while traversing the country.
“But if he wins, good for him, but God forbid. If he wins, good for him, but God forbid,” Kambwili said.
He said Zambians must realise that the country could not develop in 10 years.
“There is no government that can change things in 10 years when talking about jobs and infrastructure. It’s for this reason that we should be given another mandate,” Kambwili said.
Kambwili charged that Hichilema was a tribalist who must not be given national office.
“If the country votes for a tribalist this country will never develop. He has told his own Tonga people that it is time to vote for a Tonga, and I have a recording,” Kambwili said, also mentioning one of the videos circulating where the late Dr Kaunda warned against Hichilema.
But put across to him that the late Dr Kaunda’s son, Colonel Panji has dismissed the video as manipulated and that the late statesman did not say that, Kambwili said the journalist who did the interview was there.
The journalist himself, Miyanza has confirmed the authenticity of the content, but that the video itself making the rounds was manipulated, with a caveat therefore to refer to the original video on the matter.
Kambwili said he was disappointed with “my elder brother ba Panji”, whom he said was an opportunist who wanted to serve in every government.
He said Col Panji was supporting the UPND because he thinks they can form government, in the same manner he joined the PF when they were about to form government.
Kambwili said he was attacking Hichilema on tribalism, because of what he said the opposition leader’s penchant to resort to tribe in his political life.
Put across to him over his tribal remarks that they would only be giving themselves jobs, against other tribes in the country, Kambwili said: “If you campaign on tribal lines and that it is time for Tongas to have a Tonga President, what is the meaning of that?”
He said Zambia was not the only country facing economic challenges, as even the most powerful countries like the United States of America (USA), Britain, Japan and others were facing challenges, but the people had still maintained their government, but was of course reminded that Donald Trump paid for that for failing to handle Covid which in turn battered the economy.
“Which was unfair. How do you blame someone over the hand of God?” asked Kambwili.
