President Hakainde Hichilema is calm right now with his family at home, and waiting for government institutions to to their job, says State House Chief Communication Specialist Clayson Hamasaka.
But asked by Daily Revelation on information that is filtering through that the President has suffered serious loses in areas where he won in 2021, such as Lusaka and the Copperbelt, Hamasaka said it was too early to call.
”Do you know that we won elections in 2021 without even Mandevu and I think Chawama being declared here in Lusaka? They had not declared. We were declared without Mandevu and Chawama,” Hamasaka said. “So we are in a democracy. Don’t jump the gun before you cross.”
Asked about how the President was doing and taking everything in, Hamasaka said: “The President is taking a rest, actually I wouldn’t call it rest. He’s at home with family and calm with the family.”
”He is just waiting for government institutions to do their part. He’s has no control over ECZ (Electoral Commission of Zambia). He is still Head of State,” said Hamasaka.
