President Hakainde Hichilema says job priorities in the Kitumba and other gold and copper mines in Mumbwa would be given to locals in the district.
Addressing a rally in Mumbwa, President Hichilema said the town was becoming rich, and that priority for jobs at Kitumba and other gold and copper mines would be given to the people of Mumbwa.
He said tarred township roads would be built in the district.
He said there would be a tarred road from Landless corner to Mumbwa.
He said more FRA depots were needed in Mumbwa for the farming community.
President Hichilema told his supporters, during several campaign rallies in Central Province, that they used to be beaten at Intercity market for simply supporting the UPND, warning that the same would continue should people elect NRPUP, an organisation whose membership is overwhelmingly derived from the ruling party.
He said that now that he had stabilised the country, those in NRPUP had lifted their eyes wanting to come and continue eating where they left off “when they ruined the nation with debts.”
“When they come you tell them zwa, zwa, zwa (go, go, go),” said President Hichilema.
He said the people would be voting for development by re-electing the UPND into office.
He said under the PF children were not going to school but now 2.3 million children were attending school.
He asked if they wanted free education to proceed forward, saying they must vote the the UPND in order for the same to be achieved.
He said the social cash transfer would be increased from K800 to K1000.
He said cash for work was also being given to people.
He said a fully fledged skills training programme would be built in Mumbwa. President Hichilema said the hospital in the district would be upgraded to a fully fledged hospital with all the facilities.
He said a modern bus stop would be developed.
