PF members are up in arms against their leaders for asking them to contribute towards the K5million for the holding of the party conference, saying all the party needs is for one or two thieves who served in the Edgar Lungu leadership to contribute towards raising the required funds.
In several voice notes posted in several PF WhatsApp groups, listened to by Daily Revelation, whose language has been moderated in this story as it is laced with rage, insults and strong language, one of the contributors Allan Nshenda wondered how the same party leaders, who were easily finding bail money over the many cases they were facing were today asking ordinary and “poor” members of the party to contribute “as if we stole with them.”
“Ili ilyashi talyapwe. Ba MCC bonsefye efyonamona mulimbwafye (This matter will not end here, from what I have noticed you are no different from dogs). You want to anger us now after you have stolen and you start sending this foolish notice asking us to start contributing money. You are scared that you will lose at the convention no wonder you want to create a pretext to get the poor to contribute, after having stolen a lot of money. Fumyeni indalama mwaiba tuye ku convention (just bring out the money you have stolen so that we go for the convention),” Nshenda said. “How are they able to pay for the hefty bails they are asked when they are arrested? How can they fail to find money for the convention as if the party has started now when it was in the ruling party before? Don’t start pretending to the UPND that you have not stolen money. You stole a lot and you are just hiding that money. Get that money you have stolen and take it to the convention.”
Nshenda said PF acting president and his people must find the money among themselves.
“Ba acting president Ba Given Lubinda neshi inkoko shinenu, katwishi ngamumfwila kumichila we don’t know because you can’t ask the poor, even where you are seated, including the one who sends you. Today the young people who suffered for this party are suffering and mulenyopola where you are and you say I am acting president. Even the one who gave you the presidency has no senses,” Nshenda said. “Aba ba Lubinda na group yabo iyaba Edgar Lungu…they cant come and tell us today to start paying money for the convention. What Davies Chama has written is foolishness. We thought your grey hair has wisdom and your entire group.”
Nshenda said asking members to contribute towards the holding of the convention was synonymous with asking someone with a cup of water to pour it into a huge lake.
“They have all the money, it’s just we the supporters who are quiet , if we were to rise and follow them to where they meet to beat them, demand that when they meet and don’t come out with sensible things we shall beat you right there from your meeting place….balefwaika ukubalopola sana aba abantu bakambe ukutina. Batubelesha pafula (They have taken us for a ride),” said Nshenda.
Another blogger, Gift Ngulube, an official from Eastern Province, said there was not way he was going to contribute from the little income earned from selling soya beans
“That can’t work let them find other means of raising money. Every party from what I know has donors. It’s not like all the donors who used to fund us have run away. Let them convince those donors to continue funding the party,” said Ngulube.
Another blogger, from among the many others, charged that the people who conspired to write the circular did not have feelings for the poor.
“You can’t do that when all the money has been stolen by thieves. All you need is one or two thieves to contribute the money and then we shall go to the convention. And every month, members of parliament contribute K4000s, so where is the almost K300,000 they raise per month? Including the money they stole. Let them just bring their money here so that we go for the convention,” said the blogger. “They MCCs don’t want a general conference so they want to create excuses. They have all the money. They have built properties for themselves and prostitutes, and then they come here talking foolishness.”
