Economic Front leader Wynter Kabimba has written UPND secretary general Batuke Imenda giving him seven days within which to provide proof of payment for the charter of the ZAF helicopter which flew him to Kasama during President Hakainde Hichilema’s tour of Northern Province.
In a letter dated August 16, 2022 addressed to Imenda and seen by Daily Revelation Media, Kabimba warned that the EF will commence legal redress in the High Court should Imenda fail to provide proof of payment for use of the helicopter.
“Re: Use of ZAF Helicopter for UPND Business. I refer to the above matter regarding your personal use as Secretary General of the ZAF helicopter which flew you to Kasama on Friday 12th August, 2022 to join His Excellency the President who was on a working visit to Northern Province. It has come to our attention that neither yourself nor UPND actually paid for the use of the helicopter which act constitutes abuse of public resources which UPND condemned the PF for similar abuses,” stated Kabimba “In view of the above, unless you can show us proof of payment for the charged of the helicopter within 7 days from the date of this letter, we shall commence legal proceedings in the High Court to seek a court order to direct you to pay for the said charter.”
The latter has also been copied to ZAF Air Commander Lieutenant General Barry.
