Citizens First (CF) leader Harry Kalaba says it is unfortunate that the administration of President Hakainde Hichilema has decided to use this opportunity to harass the Tonse Alliance by going after their officials, but warned that the PF would retribute if “by mistake” people chose to elect them on Thursday.
Kalaba said he was the better alternative to the two as whoever would win between them would focus their efforts towards exacting maximum punishment against their opponents at the cost of Zambians.
And Kalaba said the UPND and the PF would perfect the art of stealing to ‘high priest’ level.
Speaking today, Kalaba said he was saddened that President Hichilema’s administration had used this opportunity to go after his opponents in Tonse by arresting most of their leaders and confiscating their resources.
“It’s a very sad dynamic that the government has chosen this opportunity to harass their opponents,” Kalaba said. “And this kind of belief is being imbedded in the PF, and if by mistake PF is given the opportunity to get to power they will pay back.”
Kalaba urged Zambians to choose progress as while the PF and UPND were playing destructive politics, the CF stood out as a clear alternative to move Zambians forward.
He further warned that Zambians had seen how corrupt those in the UPND were, where they even sold slug dumps to their friends by dumping out small scale miners, plus the many other public deals senior government officials and UPND cadres had gotten and were ‘scavenging’ for all the time. He also said he knew too well how those he worked with in PF, where he resigned as Foreign Affairs minister in 2017, concerned themselves with feasting on public contracts.
Kalaba said the two would perfect the art of stealing to ‘high priest’ level if they were elected.
“What is going to happen is if you elect either, they will just perfect the art of getting more from the public purse. If it’s PF they will come and start from where they left,” said Kalaba. “For those in UPND, they will say ‘that contract I didn’t sign up because I feared elections, I can sign it now because elections are done.'”
