Kambwili discharged after govt purchases breathing machine for him – Masebo

Health minister Sylvia Masebo says the government has purchased the CPAP machine for monitoring former minister and PF central committee member Chishimba Kambwili’s breathing and has since been discharged from hospital.

Chishimba Kambwili’s brother, pastor Mutale, yesterday told Daily Revelation that the doctor attending to Kambwili was done with administering the treatment but was waiting for the government to buy the machine necessary for observing his breathing pressure.

Pastor Kambwili said his young brother was still unfit as he has never even left the Hospital from the time he was evacuated to South Africa.

“The doctor still has a programme on him as a patient, he’s just waiting for a CPAP machine which the government promised to buy. To date they have not bought that machine. I am not saying the government has refused to buy the machine. There is a process under the Ministry of Health, you know in government there are a lot of people who sign here and there. There is a process,” pastor Kambwili said. “That machine it’s what the doctor is waiting for. He said I am done with my treatment programme but what I want to observe is your pressure, low pressure, breathing pressure, you know because he sleeps during night time with a CPAP machine. So he wanted to observe the pressure of the new machine and took it to the technician for calibration to match the pressure and the machine. So we have lab technicians who deal with these machines.”

Responding to that today, Masebo said the government has purchased the machine for Kambwili.

“The good news is that CK is out of hospital. Was actually just discharged today. The government has also bought the machine for his home use and should be coming back home immediately,” stated Masebo
