Kenya’s President-elect William Ruto says his outgoing boss Uhuru Kenyatta has not found it fit to congratulate him for winning the 2022 general elections.

And when asked about one of the things which seem to be a constant on the lips of western liberal reporters especially when interviewing African leaders, homosexuality, President-elect Ruto said Kenya has got its values and traditions which must be respected and that people have spoken to that through their constitution.

Speaking in an interview with CNN’s Christian Amanpour who asked him if President Kenyatta, who supported his opponent Raila Odinga, has congratulated him for winning, President-elect Ruto said he never attached any condition towards his support for Kenyatta in the 10 years he supported him and served as Vice-President.

President-elect Ruto said President Kenyatta has not seen it fit to congratulate him probably because he is still dissilusioned.

And asked about his views on homosexuality, the one question that is always a constant on the lips of the liberal western media and acolytes of the western lifetyle, President Ruto said Kenyans have their traditions which must be respected and supported his nemesis’ position, President Kenyatta’s, on the matter, saying the gay agenda was not the most important for Kenyans right now as there were more pressing issues like creating jobs for the five million Kenyans.

On the grain situation which the interviewer tried to blame on Russia, President-elect Ruto refused to join in the blame game where the west is accusing Russia for the crisis on allegations of blocking Ukrainian ports and Russia counterblaming the west for having caused the problem because of sanctions.

President-elect Ruto will be sworn-in in the coming days, taking over from President Kenyatta as the east country’s ruler.
