LET’S FEEL SORRY FOR EACH OTHER, RUNNING A COUNTRY IS NOT EASY – PF MP

By Staff Reporter

Chama South member of parliament (PF) Davison Mung’andu says the country must progress beyond partisanship, saying people must be feeling sorry for each other as it is not easy to run a country.

Speaking with Daily Revelation, Mung’andu said he had received several calls from within his own party following his recent statement to Daily Revelation that he would gladly embrace a ministerial appointment from President Hakainde Hichilema despite being an opposition MP, saying national interest must overide partisanship.

“I am being told what is this, whatever. So my response still remains the way it is. I think we should progress as a country. We should be looking at the country and not individual interests. Tussling for power will not be there if we all look at national interests. Actually we should even be feeling sorry for each other because it’s not easy to run the country, if you are running a country for the benefit of its citizens. The moment we start tussling for individual interests, that’s where the problem starts,” said Mung’andu.

Mung’andu last Friday gave a vote of thanks over the 156 vehicles which have been allocated to all the constituencies despite misgivings from his party that they have only been allocated a few of those motor vechicles.

He is another one of the PF MPs to have publicly indicated willingness to serve as a minister in the UPND led administration, following another one in Anthony Mumba for Kantanshi.
