Ministry Word of God Prophetic Assemblies Pentecost Church overseer Pastor Vincent Chiponsha has pledged his Church’s support to the ruling Patriotic Front aspiring candidates at all elective positions.
During a sermon, pastor Chiponsha explained that his Church has 23 preaching points dotted across Lukanga, Mpunde and Nchembwe wards, adding that all his Church members have pledged to rally behind the PF in the forthcoming general election.
He stressed that PF Presidential candidate Edgar Lungu has demonstrated that he is a God fearing person; adding that it is for this that the incumbent Head of State has declared a National Day of Prayers.
Pastor Chiponsha also pointed out that PF council chairperson candidate Brian Nkolola has demonstrated that he is action oriented by contributing towards the construction of Katukwe and Shamputa health posts.
He has urged Kapiri Mposhi residents not to vote for absentee political leaders
Pastor Chiponsha said that Lukanga ward has had absentee civic leaders for many years, adding that this has contributed to the area remaining underdeveloped.
He urged congregants to vote for political leaders that would be accessible to the electorate after the August 12 general election.
Pastor Chiponsha observed that it is important for political leaders to be accessible to the people in order for them to appreciate and understand the challenges being faced by residents.
The clergyman expressed optimism that the civic leader that would be elected as Lukanga ward councillor during the August 12 polls would be available to the electorate.
And speaking at the same event, Nkolola implored the Church to promote social justice.
Nkolola,explained that, from time immemorial; the Church has been playing a pivotal role in the promotion of social justice.
He noted that there are currently a number of Zambian citizens that are downtrodden and require justice.
Nkolola further implored congregants to elect politicians that are action-orientated.
“Ala balanda ati icikwanka bachimwena kumampalanyana. I have demonstrated to you that even before vying for this political position, I am capable of delivering development to you people. And I am not going to labour so much on that issue, but to say that you need to vote for action oriented political leadership in Kapiri Mposhi. Vote for President Edgar Lungu, vote for Mr Crispin Siingwa as your area member of parliament, vote for me as district council chairperson and all the aspiring Patriotic Front ward councilors in Kapiri Mposhi,” said Nkolola. “The Church has, from time immemorial, been playing a pivotal role in the promotion of social justice. Currently a number of Zambian citizens that are downtrodden and require justice. And as such, we expect the Church to continue playing a pivotal role in the promotion of social justice.”
Nkolola further pledged to continue working closely with all Churches in Kapiri Mposhi district.
He explained that, by doing so; he would be able to understand and appreciate the challenges being faced by residents in all the 18 wards in the constituency and, subsequently, find better ways of addressing such challenges.
