MINISTRY OF SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IS USELESS! SCRAP IT OFF, URGES SABOI

National Democratic Congress leader Saboi Imboela says President Hakainde Hichilema should scrap off the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises because it is not making any positive impact on small businesses in the country.

Imboela pointed out that the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises is just an offshoot of the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry.

She said that President Hakainde Hichilema created the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises to create an impression that the UPND administration wants to promote small businesses and grow the economy.

“The Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises is not making any positive impact on small businesses. This Ministry was just a department in Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, but the UPND government opted to create a Ministry from that with a view to create an impression that they want to promote small businesses and grow the economy,” Imboela said. “In their usual style, the UPND administration decided to create this Ministry to create jobs for their sympathisers; and like I have said before, this is a jublication of work. And in my view President Hakainde Hichilema should scrap off the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises.”

Saboi said that the UPND administration should have maintained the Ministry of Gender as opposed to scraping it off and replace it with the newly created Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises.

“The UPND government is not an advocate of gender equality or children’s rights. They don’t believe in the promotion and protection of women and children’s rights. And that is why they decided to scrap off the Ministry of Gender,” said Imboela.
