Mwenya Musenge is calling is in the night that Josephs Akafumba has misled them, says National Democratic Congress (NDC) secretary general Charles Kabwita.
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Kabwita claimed Musenge, who is aligned with Home Affairs permanent secretary Akafumba, has been telling them that Akafumba has been misleading them.
“By the way, people like ba Josephs Akafumba and Bridget Atanga were not among the first office bearers. We just co-opted them. Little did we know that they will turn around and become traitors, anarchists masquerading as legitimate office bearers,” charged Kabwita. “So ba Mwenya Musenge should not be impersonating me. I am the current secretary general of National Democractic Congress. I am not dead, I am still alive. Ine eko nafuma takwaba ukupyana muntu talafwa (Where I come from, you cannot succeed a person who is still alive). And stop this nonsense of pleading with us in the night. During the day you are pretending that you know what you are doing, but in the night you start calling us; saying ba Akafumba has misled us. Ba Mwenya Musenge, it’s you I am addressing. Stop this nonsense!”
Kabwita also disclosed that Musenge had vowed never to enter into an alliance with the UPND, and wondered why the latter has suddenly got interested in the UPND; especially that he consistently used to state that he does not believe in the UPND ideologies.
“I worked with ba Mwenya Musenge and he said he will never agree going into an alliance with the UPND. He categorically used to say that he does not believe in the UPND ideologies. But I don’t know what happened to him to change his position,” said Kabwita. “These are just individuals that want get positions from President Hakainde Hichilema as district commissioners or members of the Local Government Service Commission or Civil Service Commission or something like that. That is the agenda that ba Mwenya Musenge and the group are advancing.”
Kabwita warned Mwenya Musenge and his group to stop masquerading as an NDC officially, saying that they will soon face the wrath of the law.
He described Mwenya Musenge and the committee that he is leading as impositors.
Kabwita stressed that the true and legitimate office bearers of the National Democractic Congress are those in the Saboi Imboela led NDC.
“Having duly elected member of the National Democractic Congress central committee and subsequently appointed as party president, Madam Saboi Imboela is still the legitimate party president of the NDC, and the chain has remained unbroken. And I am currently the legitimate secretary general of the National Democractic Congress. Therefore, ba Mwenya Musenge should stop masquerading as NDC secretary general because he risks being arrested, prosecuted and jailed together with the committee he claims to be leading,” warned Kabwita. “For your own information, I was among the 10 office bearers of the National Democractic Congress when this political organisation was being born. I was among the top three office bearers. So, we are the true and legitimate office bearers.”
He explained that individuals claiming to be legitimate office bearers of the NDC today were merely co-opted in the party after it was registered.
