NAKACHINDA RESPONDS TO INFO HE HAS BEEN PUT ‘KU WIRE’ BY LUNGU

Raphael Nakachinda has responded to assertions that he has been put ‘ku wire ‘ by former president Edgar Lungu, with PF insiders saying he is being viewed as a “traitor” that he is supporting Chishimba Kambwili behind the curtains.

Responding to assertions that he is now not in good standing with former president Lungu and “his camp”, Nakachinda said president Lungu did not have any camp, and that he has a very good relationship with the former president.

He said he knew president Lungu to be very democratic on the issue of leadership within the party, saying he has indicated both publicly and privately that he would not endorse anybody.

“And I cannot today be classified as a traitor when in fact among the people that I have worked with politically who have given me the privilege to serve the Zambian people at a certain level is president Edgar Chagwa Lungu. He nominated me as member of parliament and made me minister and now he has given me the privilege to serve as member of central committee in the Patriotic Front,” Nakachinda said. “So maybe those who are speculating like that may just be a little unhappy with the good relationship I enjoy with the former president. And what I know is that he has not endorsed anybody, there is no grouping and for your own information neither Kambwili or any candidates, those who have expressed themselves, whether it is Given Lubinda, or indeed Brian Mundubile and others, Emmanuel Mwamba p, non of them can claim that I support them.”

Nakachinda said from his experience in the MMD, this was the moment for those in PF to focus on reorganizing and taking stoke of our structures.

“The Zambian people are the ones who are going to speak to us as a party when the time is right on who would be the best president. Actually what would be the yardstick for determining who is the best leader at this particular stage. Because when you make an emotional decision to choose a leader, you may find that out if maybe 13 reasons which somebody should be considered to be president of the party you may just tick maybe two boxes. Oh somebody because they talk, somebody can organise money,” said Nakachinda. “You lose out on other important aspects because you have hurriedly chosen a leader. So for me I will not play petty politics of factions and so on. I am coming from a background of having had an experience of managing a transition which transition because if not being sincere and encouraging certain things we saw leaders in MMD destroying the party because they were not told the truth. So for I think people are trying to draw me into petty petty petty politics which I cannot participate in.”
