Local Government minister Garry Nkombo has complained that while the 42 PF members of parliament stayed away from the house sittings, they all showed up when the house adjourned for lunch.
Rising on a point of order, Nkombo said while a quorum was reached for members of parliament during lunch, the same has not happened during the sittings as PF members of parliament have stayed away from the house.
“When it was time for lunch we didn’t fail to reach a quorum … they were all there and we found them there. As soon as they ate the food provided by government they relegated their duties,” Nkombo said, saying he was wondering whether they had stayed away in order to stop the house from forming a quorum, especially over the CDF bill or they were protesting the 30-day suspension from Parliament meted against their Mambilima colleague Jean Chisenga.
And First Deputy Speaker Malungo Chisangano ruled that the members of parliament were out of order for staying away from the house especially that this was the last day of conducting business of the house.
She described the manner they were conducting themselves as unfortunate.
“They are not respecting their people. They don’t love their people,” said Chisangano
