The instability in the local currency shows no signs of improving as the Kwacha is now depreciating everyday against the United States Dollar and other major convertible currencies.
Having recently breached the K20 to US$1 psychological barrier only a few days ago, the Kwacha is now selling at K20.2 in several foreign exchange outlets.
Zambians are therefore likely to continue forking out more on essential goods, and there being no respite in the high cost of living as most goods are imported from outside, including the fuel prices that keep on being adjusted upwards monthly.
