PF MEMBERS WHO PARTICIPATED IN CELEBRATIONS ARE HEROES, SAYS MOONGA … Nobody’s right should be infringed upon because of political nonsense

PF central committee member Paul Moonga has described as heroes party members who defied the leadership by participating in the international women’s day celebrations today, saying nobody’s rights should be infringed upon because of “nonsense”

Speaking with Daily Revelation, Moonga said he sent congratulatory messages to the party members who participated against the party’s position not to do so citing various grievances against President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND administration.

“Those who actually defied I will actually tell them heroes. I sent the people in Kabwe congratulations for the job well done. For all the Zambians those who came to participate in women’s day I say congratulations, keep it up and nobody should infringe on their rights. It’s a right actually to participate in these days. It’s not political it’s a right,” Moonga said. “So nobody’s rights should be infringed because of political nonsense. And that’s how parties are destroyed. You can see how the women in Kabwe how they came out in large numbers, that’s how you can know then we are still alive. Now how are we going to measure ourselves we are alive if you tell the people don’t participate.

“For what? I don’t see any reason. So the decision by the central committee is actually unacceptable. I am not part of it and I thank God I wasn’t present. If I was there I could have condemned it right and left there.”

Moonga reiterated that he did not attend the central committee meeting which was “totally unacceptable and wrong.”

“We should not fall in the trap of the UPND who could not participate in national events. National events are national events. They are non-partisan and if the central committee made this decision I am not part of it. I thank God I wasn’t there it could have been collective responsibility,” said Moonga. “Since I was absent I can actually condemn in the strongest manner it is supposed to be. Let the people participate on independence days, labour days, youth days. Those are the days on the calendar of the Zambian government, Zambian people. You cannot make a declaration that we won’t go for independence. For what?”
