PF should have genuinely rebranded but Lungu never wanted to – Laura Miti

By Daily Revelation Reporter

The collective defeat of the PF in the 2021 general elections should have moved them to genuinely rebrand, but by failing to do so they left room for Miles Sampa, says activist Laura Miti.

“Parliament has changed the leadership of the Opposition from PF1 to PF2. What a mess! What’s been explained to me is, in the current shenanigans, Parliament is the only actor that can honestly say its hands are tied. It has to abide by who the registered SG chooses as Leader of the Opposition,” Miti stated. “Bu has to be ultimately agreed that the current PF drama has been occasioned by the party failing to hold a convention to choose, a passably respectable, successor to President Lungu. This happened almost certainly because he (EL) did not allow it. He always wanted to return.”

Miti was at pains to understand the wisdom of those who surround Edgar Lungu.

“What I don’t understand is why those around EL – Lubinda, Nakachinda, Emmanuel, Bowman, Mundubile et al ever thought the way to go was to help Pres Lungu try to prevent the march of time. Surely, their collective reading of 2021 should have told them – we must (genuinely) rebrand,” stated Miti. “Simply, that Miles had the tools and argument with which to institute a bizzare and illegal take over, is the fault of PF leaders. Hostile takeovers are almost always facilitated by a fundamental failing of leadership.”
