PF STRUCTURES ARE JOINING IN NUMBERS, SAYS SP CAMPAIGNER … but PF accuses SP candidate of buying people with K200s

Former PF Kabwata parliamentary aspirant, Patrick Mwape, who together with Socialist Party (SP) candidate Tripher Ng’andu, recently joined Dr Fred M’membe’s party, says most PF structures are defecting to SP in numbers.

But PF deputy campaign manager for Kabwata Mwimba Malama says Ng’andu ‘s group is buying people with K200s, but that will all fail.

Speaking with Daily Revelation, Mwape, the former PF Chilenje ward councilor, said he decided to support the SP after looking at all the candidates, including UPND’s Tayengwa, whom he said did not have any background in Kabwata.

He said the PF’s Clement Tembo managed the presidential empowerment under former president Edgar Lungu, but there was no record to show that any person benefited and graduated to another level from that same initiative, saying even the empowerment itself was done in a window dressing fashion.

Mwape said his conscience told him that Tembo was not the right person to take the people of Kabwata forward as he doubted his credibility.

He said he thought Ng’andu was credible and had the integrity, and because he had stood on the SP ticket, he too was supporting the same party in the elections.

Mwape said some PF structures too were campaigning with him for the SP candidate, saying they were following with their own conscience.

But Malama said the Ng’andu group was buying people.

“He’s going round buying those people at K200. If he can manage to buy people at that much let him continue. He will see for himself the results any way. A good number of people have actually received…you can’t buy people and think they will follow you because you have given them money, K200. People this time are reasoning,” said Malama.
