REDUCE ALCOHOL INTAKE DURING FESTIVE SEASON, URGES BISHOP MUSUSU

Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) chairperson Bishop Paul Mususu has urged Zambians to minimise the alcohol intake during this festive season.

In his festive message, Bishop Mususu urged Zambians to celebrate responsibly.

“Our appeal is that our people must celebrate and know that we are very close to the end of the year, we want them to be able to step into the coming year. We do not want to lose lives. So passionately we would appeal that that people should minimise their alcohol intake. If they do they should not be on the road and just celebrate in a manner that is dignifying the savior, the Lord,” Bishop Mususu said. “The Festive season is known notoriously for people celebrating in a manner that will endanger their own lives and the lives of others. Driving while drunken and any such behavior. Our appeal as usual is that this is a time to reflect according to the Christian values of the birth of Christ. Of course we know that that is not the actual date he was born. But it is important for us to be reminded that a savior was born for us as a gift from God.”

The Bishop also urged that this was time to remember the disadvantaged in society and help meet their needs, and not only to those that can afford to pay back.
