Council of Churches in Zambia general secretary Fr Emmanuel Chikoya says the Love festival is a unique platform that will help to defeat the vices of sin and corruption that make Zambia not to be a society it aspires to be
Speaking at a press briefing held at Government Complex, where the love Zambia festival which is going to take place on 13-15 September 2024 at Heroes Stadium in Lusaka was launched, Fr Chikoya underscored the importance of the gospel of Jesus Christ in fighting all the vices standing against national aspiration.
“The coming of united hand will defeat an elephant, the elephant of sin, corruption and all the things which make Zambia not to be the kind of society it wants to be … It is impossible to get defeated when we work together, when we live together for the course of the gospel of Jesus Christ. That is why uniquely we took the lead to host the Louis Palau Association in Zambia to do the love Zambia festival, a unique platform for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way that … even those stubborn ones that would not want to come to Church will be attracted because there is something that also touches their physical needs as well as their spiritual needs,” Fr Chikoya said.
And Evangelist Andrew Palau said the youths needed to be shown that despite all the uncertainties, wars and problems going on in the world, there was still hope.
Palau said the youths need to be shown that despite all the world problems there is still hope in Jesus Christ.
“This is a time in the whole world, but in the nation of course when unity needs to come as a critical feature so we are working hard even together to come together more and more. We are looking for the vision for the youths, the hopeless, especially we want to impact the youths and the young families in this day and age where it is difficult and the world is pressing in on us. We hear of wars and troubles in our nation and around the world, and the young people get hopeless. We want them to know there is hope in this world. The bible talks about the abundant life John 10:10,” Palau said.
