SLAPDEE refunds Sean K10,000 for failed performance contract

Zambian rapper Mwila Musonda popularly known as SlapDee has paid a K10, 000 refund he owed Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) leader Sean Tembo for failing to honour a performance contract.

SlapDee paid the money

through his lawyers Ernest Mwansa and Theu Advocates.

According correspondence dated October 3, 2023 and addressed to Tembo, the lawyers confirmed that the refund was deposited into the account he provided.

“RE: SEAN TEMBO VS MWILA NMUSONDA 2023/SCCL/645. Reference is made to the telephone conversation on 15th September, 2023 between yourself and the undersigned, having agreed that the refund of K10, 000 would mark as the full and final settlement,” read the correspondence in part. “We write to confirm that the refund has been deposited into the account you provided. For easy reference we enclose a copy of the proof of payment,”

Two weeks ago, Daily Revelation published a story where Tembo sued SlapDee for failing to honour a performance contract.

Tembo who was demanding K10, 000 refund which he paid as down payment sued the musician in the Small Claims Court.

According to a letter of demand, Tembo wanted Slap Dee to pay back the K10, 000 he received as down payment upon being engaged to perform at his lodge in Ngwerere, but never showed up.

“I am hereby demanding  from you  the sum of K10,000 plus costs  and interest  being in respect  of money refund of deposit  made  towards entertainment  services not provided,” read the letter in part,

When contacted to give details of the claim, Tembo explained that on August 26, this year, SlapDee was contacted to perform at a function to take place at his lodge in Ngwerere, but he didn’t show up, even after the preparations were done.

He said the total contract payment was K20, 000 and Tembo paid 50 percent deposit of K10, 000.”
