Zambia’s former High Commissioner to Australia Ambassador George Zulu has urged the new High Commissioner to that country to work towards increasing scholarships for Zambian students to that country.

Amb Zulu said he linked up with Munshya recently, and was pleased that the Zambian mission to Australia, where he served as the country’s first High Commissioner was showing signs of growth after he was succeeded by Amb Frank Bwalya who will also be succeeded by Amb Munshya.

“We have a sizable number of Zambians studying in Australia which he must go and see if we can increase the number of scholarships from that country. Australia is a huge agricultural producing country, and there is a lot we can learn from there. I wished him well. I am very happy that I have been succeeded by two people, so it means our relations with Australia are growing,” he said to Daily Revelation Media.

Amb Zulu also talked about the huge Australian investments in Zambia’s mining industry, including First Quantum Mineral (FQM).

“Australia promotes the biggest Mining Indaba in Perth every year and also the one that takes place in Cape Town. The key is to get as many mining investors as possible. New Zealand which also falls under Zambian accreditation in Australia once have us aid in small scale diary farming to develop small scale diary,” said Amb Zulu.
